Acure Brightening Facial Scrub with Sea Kelp + Chlorella Growth Factor

A couple months back I picked up this intriguing facial scrub from Acure, one of my favorite skincare lines. I'd heard great things about it from Hayley and others, and I was drawn to Acure's artful swirly green waves packaging. The names (or maybe subtitles?) of Acure's products often include some super science-y plant ingredients, and with this product it is easy to understand how these ingredients come together to make a perfect scrub. Walnut shells and sea kelp are the exfoliants, green clay and lemon peel clean the pores, and Chlorella Growth Factor stimulates new cell growth. Sounds the perfect combination for sloughing away dead cells and rejuvenating your skin, right? That's exactly what it does. Using this scrub instantly smoothes and brightens your face, and makes your skin feel super clean.

And I absolutely love how it feels, the level of abrasiveness is perfect. It's rough enough that its effective, but gentle enough not to irritate your skin. The scrub spreads easily onto your face, and washes off with minimal effort. The mud-like consistency gives it a spa feel, and I think the green color is fun. I find using it helps keep breakouts at bay, and is also nice to use on days when you have a lot of makeup to take off. I recommend only using it about once or twice a week, to avoid going overboard. Using it in the shower is extra nice, because the hot steam helps open up pores and allows the purifying green clay to do its thang.

This is the perfect option for anyone who wants a exfoliating product that has an high-end feel, with great ingredients and a reasonable price. Acure has really hit a home run with this one.

  3. this reminds me of bird poo (sorry!) but I'm highly tempted to get it. I've been drawn to products containing lots of greens (chlorella, spirulina, etc..) due to the detox benefits.

    1. Haha that's alright, though I normally think of bird poo as white! I think you would enjoy this product, it's not gross at all.
