Jane Iredale Corrective Colors

Meet my trusty Jane Iredale Corrective Colors palette. I love this thing. I've always liked the idea of using color correcting concealers, but the ones I had tried before were more gimmicky than functional. These ones actually work.

All four colors in the palette are quite pigmented and have really nice texture. They cover really well but blend right in with your skin tone. I would describe the consistency as slightly on the dry side but not drying. The texture is also a sort of thin, so if you need to cover a pimple that is more 3D, you probably will need to put a powder on top to set the concealer. Generally, the coverage lasts most of the day, but need to reapplied over blemishes. I absolutely love the scent; the concealers smell slightly like cucumber.

Here the uses I have found for each color:
  • I use the yellow tone for concealing spots and redness, especially around the nose. It can also be used under the eyes to counteract purple and blue circles, but the orange color is even better for that.
  • The beige color is supposed to be the regular toned concealer, and I think it would work on many  light to medium skintones, but is by no means universal. If I have used some bronzer, this color matches me perfectly. On my regular skin, it is too dark, and needs to be topped with my foundation powder to make it match.
  • The orange color is amazing on undereye circles. I don't have a huge problem with darkness under my eyes, but the orange totally cancels out the purple and blends right in with my skin tone. You wouldn't think it would match my super pale skin, but it does. It also doesn't cake up or settle into fine lines. This is my favorite one of the set.
  • The purple color I use as a highlight in my inner corner or brow bone. I also sometimes use it as a cream base for eyeshadow. It does a nice job of creating an even, light canvas for color.
The little brush that it comes with can actually be quite useful, but I wasn't a huge fan of the packaging. The cardboard looks nice when you first get it, but gets dirty after you use it. A better example of cardboard packaging is the Ecco Bella FlowerColor Bronzer, which is sturdier and can be wiped clean. I have actually taken the concealer pans out and put them in an e.l.f. palette (available at Target for only $1!), which much sturdier and contains a nice big mirror.

I highly recommend checking out this product, it is a neat concept and a multitasking everyday essential for me.

  1. I've also tried out correctness before but they don't really do such a great job. I do really like the sound of this though! Very handy as well.

    1. I think a lot of times color correctors end up looking like their true color instead of neutralizing. These really do blend in with your skin, no green spots or anything!

  5. This looks great. I love that you put it in the elf compact. I personally don't use too many color correcting products, but I know many swear by them.

    1. I think they really work for some skin tones and not as much as others. This is the best one I've tried though.

  9. This is such a great post. I've had my eye on this for a while and I think I'm going to have to end up buying it. It looks really great! I also love how you depotted them and put them into an ELF package. I'm not a very big fan of cardboard packaging so I'll have to steal your idea :)

    1. I think the circle delete one does not have the same formula, I am not sure how they compare because I haven't tried that kind!

    2. Since the package has come,now I can reply it well,hehee :D

Circle delete one is good, though what I chose(yellow) the yellow one isn't that yellow(and this one on your pic is even yellower,so I use the beige one and it works!:) Now I'm so tempted to try this one,I love jane iredale concealer's consistency! The best concealer consistency I've ever tried!

    3. I agree, I think these are the best natural concealers I've used. The orange one is really amazing for dark circles too. I am interested in trying circle delete eventually.

    4. I think the best thing about concealer is its consistency,JI has just the right consistency and the right color.
Anyway, would love to see your review if you buy the circle delete one ^^
